If Grime offers tons of character builds, infinite farming and leveling up, cool, memorable, intertwined maps (hopefully with a central hub to chill in and prep for your next run) featuring vastly different biomes (not just dark caves and dreary dungeons, please!) to explore, and lots of interesting 'side stuff' to do, like fishing, building up your hub chill spot, NPC's of all kinds to interact with, collecting and crafting. This sounds great, Ive been hoping this game would come to GoG but Id be cool with an ipod touch version as well. Ive been thinking that with all the HD remakes and successful kickstarters of various old games it would be amazing if this astonishing game got what it deserves - either a full-on sequel or at least an HD remake to. No, it's no Salt & Sanctuary, but I've yet to come across another game in this new-ish genre that does. I believe that some of you are familiar with the name that goes by the name of The Neverhood. It's also another one of those games that was just 'meh' until the 2.0 patch, but the developers did listen to complaints, and fairly well addressed all of them, and I'd give it a 7.5 for a rating. This terrific little niche genre of games has really taken off since then my most recent purchase of such a game was 'Morbid, The Seven Acolytes,' which uses amazing pixel art, ridiculously excessive violence and gore, along with buckets and buckets of virtual blood to make it stand out among the crowd.

They really hit it big with Salt & Sanctuary. I watched the GDC presentation the creators gave, and its a husband and wife team. So much so that the developers included a note you find very early in the game which stated how excited they were for Dark Souls 3. I use that description because Salt & Sanctuary was the first game of this style to release, and it proudly displayed its roots. Simply put - 2D Dark Souls gameplay meets Metroidvania-styled maps, for the most part. Because of this unfortunate timing, it was never a mainstream hit (selling an estimated 41 000 copies before it was discontinued), but among aficionados it is nevertheless a cult classic due to a completely unique sense of quirky.
